WSEG Boat Ramp

There are many boat ramps around Volusia County. Some of the more notable include Oak Grove Park, the WSEG Boat Ramp, Swoope Boat Ramp, Hiles Boulevard Boat Ramp, and the Turnbull Creek Primitive Boat Launch. Each of these boat launches is well worth the visit. For those unfamiliar with these areas, a GPS might be in order.

The WSEG Boat Ramp is a small, yet well-constructed boat launch. It features a pre-cast modular slab for a single boat ramp. It's also located close to Mosquito Lagoon RV Park. It has a fishing area, restrooms, and 36 trailer parking spaces.

The WSEG boat launch also features a few other nifty items, like a free fishing pier and a nature trail. It's also a great place to see the sunset.

The Turnbull Creek Primitive Boat Launch is a government-owned boat ramp. It's located along U.S. Highway 1. It's one of the few government-owned boat launches in Volusia County. It's a gravel and sand construction with a small but well-designed boating area. There's a tiny bit of a navigational hazard, though. Browse around this site

The WSEG Boat Ramp also comes with a few other goodies, including a restroom, grills, and a picnic area. It's also a good place to view the sunset, as it's on the west side of the lagoon.

River Breeze Park

The River Breeze Park in Oak Hill, FL might be just the ticket if you're in the mood for a day on the water. There's a good reason that this 35 acre park is a popular spot among boaters. In addition to providing ample parking for the masses, this park is home to a few notable attractions. For instance, the boat launch is the northernmost county boat ramp on the Yellow River. Aside from launching vessels of all sizes, the park also provides opportunities to explore the majesty that is the Indian River. Whether you're into fishing, water skiing, or the latest tech fad, the oh-so-far-removed shores of this region are sure to please your tastes. Aside from the usual suspects, the park also provides a healthy dose of nature in the form of birds and other beasts. If you're in the market for a weekend of rest and relaxation, the park is a surefire way to get it done.

Depending on the time of year, the oh-so-far-away shores of this quaint little town are abuzz with activity. With over 100 restaurants, shops, and bars to choose from, it's no wonder that people of all ages are flocking to the ole yew. In fact, the town was rated as the top vacation destination in Florida for the past several years in a row.

Canaveral National Seashore

Canaveral National Seashore is located in Volusia County. It contains over 58,000 acres of a barrier island and offshore waters. The park is home to a wide range of wildlife. The area is prime habitat for many threatened and endangered species. In addition to its beauty, Canaveral National Seashore has cultural, natural, and historical values.

There are two entrances to the Canaveral National Seashore. The northern entrance provides a more diverse range of recreational activities. There is a visitor's center on Harkers Island that provides park information and visitor orientation.

There are also a number of boat ramps that can be used by visitors. Apollo Beach Boat Ramp offers 24-hour launching. It is located across from Shipyard Island. There are ramps for flat and motor boats. You must have a permit to launch your boat from the dock.

The Apollo Beach Boat Ramp has restrooms. There is a boat ramp for kayakers. However, kayakers must check with the Apollo Beach Visitor Center before taking their boats out. There is a limited amount of parking at this location.

For those wanting to camp, there are two camping areas. Playalinda Beach is open to the public and is the closest to the Kennedy Space Center. This beach has 80 parking spaces. During the winter, this beach is closed. This is due to damage from Hurricane Nicole.
