Pensacola Aviation Center

Naval Air Station Pensacola, or NAS Pensacola, is known as “The Cradle of Naval Aviation.” It’s the training base for naval flight officers and enlisted aircrew.

The base is home to the world’s largest Naval Aviation Museum, with 150 restored aircraft representing the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. It also features several attractions that include flight simulators and a virtual flight deck.

Aviation Discovery Park

The Aviation Discovery Park at Pensacola Aviation Center is a great place to take the family for a fun day out. It is located at the southeast corner of the airport and features a miniature control tower, plays equipment for kids, and a sidewalk for strolling.

The park was created by the local Pensacola Area Flight Watch group. It was their vision to create a park that would allow people of all ages to enjoy the sights of general aviation and the air traffic around Pensacola International Airport.

Aside from a mock runway and control tower, the park also contains several historical plaques of prominent aviators in the area. It is equipped with play equipment, picnic tables, and benches with shade. A fantastic read

The Aviation Discovery Park is free to visit. It is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. It is located off of Jerry Maygarden Road, which can be accessed from Spanish Trail Rd or Summit Blvd.

Hangar Rentals

If you are a pilot who is looking for a great location to store and maintain your aircraft, Pensacola Aviation Center has the hangar rental options that you need. Its facilities include a large corporate hangar with quick turns and plenty of ramp space, along with pilot amenities such as showers, snooze rooms, crew cars, and more.

The hangar also features two conference rooms and a snack area with cold food and soft drink vending. In addition to offering hangars for rent, the facility also provides a variety of other services including FAR and ATP flight training. Additional info

The hangars were designed with the best of modern technology in mind, such as an expensive foam fire suppression system and wide entry and exit points for aircraft to move in and out of the building. The complex was also designed to be energy efficient, with buildings that face the sun and use an LED lighting system. The hangars also have the capacity to handle multiple aircraft at one time.

Flight Training

Whether you’re new to the world of aviation or want to improve your skills, Pensacola Aviation Center offers flight training that can get you on the road. Our instructors will guide you through the process of getting your private, commercial, multi-engine, and instructor ratings.

The 479th Flying Training Group at Naval Air Station Pensacola trains combat systems officers (CSOs). CSOs are trained to work as weapons system officers or panel navigators.

Students train in the T-6 Texan II and T-38 Talon fighter aircraft. They also learn how to master contact, instrument, low-level, and formation flying.

Students are coached by military and allied air forces from NATO allies. They also receive instruction from U.S. Air Force officers and instructors.

Flight Attendants

Flight Attendants work with passengers on flights to ensure they are safe, secure, and comfortable. Their job duties include instructing passengers on how to use the aircraft's safety equipment, assisting them with carry-ons, and providing food and beverages.

Flight attendants also assist in emergencies and may be called upon to help evacuate the aircraft, prevent passengers from falling off the deck, and keep passengers updated on turbulence or delays. Their training includes a certificate of demonstrated proficiency, which they receive by completing a program and passing an exam.
